Sami+Chance - Coronado Heights

Y’all. Let me tell ya bout my beest friiiiend. Just kidding but not really. Sam and I go way back to middle school in our awkward too much eye make up, Aeropostale t-shirt wearing, peace-signing selves. And THANK the good Lord we outgrew that and continued to keep in touch in the stages of high school, college and being in each other’s weddings. 

One year ago on November 17, 2018, Sami Mowbray married Chance and became Sami Reitsma. Gorgeous but absolutely freezing weather, we braved the day and had an absolute BLAST celebrating. Delicious food, dancing, wine, what else could ya ask for?!  

Fast forward to November 24th THIS YEAR, I was given the hecka privilege to photograph Sami and Chance for their one year anniversary and uh hello BABY ANNOUNCEMENT (cue the happy dance). And let me tell ya, the weather really made up for it. 65 degree weather, perfect Kansas sunset at the top of Coronado Heights reliving and dancing to their first dance song. Don’t mind me all teary eyed behind the lens.

During photos I asked them what their absolute favorite part of the whole entire wedding day was, and they BOTH answered with “When it was over and we could just be married”. Wow. I felt that. The fact that they were glad to get through the chaos and planning and just wanted to begin life and marriage together (with their new puppy of course). That's just who they are! These two are an amazing mix of sweet and goofy and calling them friends is an absolute privilege.  

Regardless of the mushy things, these two are a blast to be around, funny as heck and down for anything I threw at them. They made this “photography” debut easy as pie and I couldn’t thank them enough! Here’s to many more adventures & years for the Reitsmas! Bring on 2020 and it’s incredible blessings!
